Splash Pad Fun!

We met some friends at the Splash Pad this morning and Macey loved it. She loves to play in the water and it is so much fun watching her run around laughing. It's only open a few more weeks and I plan on taking Macey several more times. :) For only two bucks, it's a great activity!

We also met Maggie and her mommy, Amy, at another Splash Pad this past Friday. I couldn't get any pictures of the two girls together, but I did take a little video of Macey running around... Jimmy and I can't stop laughing when we watch her little toddler run.

Wheels

Jimmy and Macey have been spending most evenings outside, when the sun is finally setting and the temperature is only in the low 90's. I usually continue to hibernate inside and clean up dinner, wash clothes or just sit with Bailey. Jimmy takes Macey on a walk, usually starting out in her little pink car. (She washed it on Sunday while we washed our cars, so she has wanted to show it off all week.) ;) They came home earlier this week with Macey saying "wheel, wheel!" Jimmy explained they had found some houses with pinwheels in their yards and continued by telling me they had walked a pretty far distance to find them. Macey had pushed her car and run all the way home, which was pretty impressive to us both.

The next morning, Macey woke up saying, "wheel, dada, hand, street." She repeated this and just "wheel" in an exasperated tone until I finally agreed that we could go, in the stroller, to see these amazing wheels. I was already dressed and showered and we were going to be late to playgroup... but I strapped her in her stroller and we went searching for these wheels. I called Jimmy as I was huffing it up a huge hill, in the heat that was already bringing out sweat, to thank him for causing this little journey. But her excitement was worth it...

When she saw the first wheel, which thankfully was not as far as I had expected it to be, she said "out wheel!" She was so happy to finally see her new favorite thing. She doesn't look as excited in these pictures as she was in person... ;)

Last night, I joined in on their walk and had the best time watching Macey. She was so happy to see the wheels again and also introduced me to some "princess" statues.

When we first saw the statues, she walked around and patted each one on the head saying "Hi Princess." She continued this circle until she decided to hug each princess... thankfully, I caught some of this on my phone...

When we finally convinced Macey that it was time to go, she ran all the way home, laughing. It was a perfect evening together.

Grandaddy & Pop Visit

We unfortunately missed the Dorough family reunion in Cordele this year, but we did still get to see some family! Pop and Grandaddy stopped by on their way home for a quick lunch. I love pictures of Macey with her grandparents and I'm always trying to get pictures of her with her great grandparents. I love these shots. Simple but so sweet.

Market and Popcorn

One of Macey's favorite rhymes is "This Little Piggy." We say the shorter version of "This little piggy went to the market. This little piggy went to the stayed home. This little piggy went wee wee wee all the way home." She loves it! She says "again" minus the "a" as soon as we finish. So, twice now I've busted Macey saying "market" to her Duckie. She holds his little foot and says "market. wee wee wee." and laughs hysterically. Of course, when she sees me watching her, she wants me to say it to her with her toes. We are also working on "Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes" to add a little variety to our day. ;)

Another first this week was Popcorn!

When Macey woke up from her nap on Tuesday, I wanted to try something different for our snack time. Popcorn sounded good and I have a ton of it that I never remember to eat. So, we had our first bag of popcorn and she loved it!

Since I don't have any pictures of "Market," here are too many pictures of her first popcorn experience. :)

We also had jello but she was hesitant to try it. Once she finally did, she loved it! But I wasn't surprised, I mean, who doesn't love jello??

Roseola

Last week, my poor baby had a fever for three days. She was a little furnace that would only cool down with medicines every three hours. She needed to be held, cuddled, played with and sat with while she watched "street." (Sesame Street) This was unfortunately also the three days that Jimmy had a meeting in Birmingham. Thankfully my dad was off and since he was coming up to watch Macey for my doctor's appointment, he came a day early and stayed a day late. So a horrible three days was more than bearable having my dad help out.

Her fever fluctuated between 100 and 102 for the first two days. I was convinced we were just getting teeth, since Macey has six and is overdue for several more to make their appearance. Jenny's son, Christian, always ran a "high" fever when he got the more difficult teeth. Since Macey had no other symptoms of sickness, just very loose dirty diapers, I felt comfortable that I was treating her fever and that she would be feeling better soon. By Friday morning, day three of the fever, we decided we should visit the doctor before the weekend.

We saw a very nice doctor that we had not seen in the past and she suggested that we start eliminating possible sicknesses since nothing appeared to be wrong with Macey. We started with a strep test that came back negative five minutes later. Then we tried a catheter to rule out a urinary tract infection. It was an awful experience that didn't work so we moved on to a lab to have her blood drawn. Also an awful experience but thankfully they got some blood and confirmed that her blood showed everything was fine. We were both exhausted by the time we got home and laid down for naps.

Friday evening, Macey's fever was under 100 when we put her to bed. When I woke up to check her temperature at 1:30a, her fever was gone. She remained fever free but a rash started to appear on Saturday. Thankfully, mom and dad had come up to bring us dinner (and a new monitor!) and mom noticed the rash looked like Roseola. After scouring the internet, we concluded that a high fever, loose dirty diapers and a rash were all confirming signs that baby girl had Roseola.

It's nice to know that there was a reason for Macey's first fever, but we still only have six teeth. I wish Jimmy had been home to help during those three days but I'm so thankful my dad had the time off and gave up his three days to help us. It was nice to have someone help remember when I had last given her medicine, her last temperature, what we should all eat for lunch and dinner and support at the doctor and blood lab.
