Tomahawk Chop

We took Macey to her first Braves game Tuesday night and, well, I think she would have enjoyed it more if it hadn’t started at her usual bedtime. So, needless to say, she was a little cranky and tired BUT we had foot long hot dogs and did the Tomahawk chop! There is nothing like watching the Braves play on a beautiful summer night in Atlanta. There are two more home stands and I’m hoping we can make at least one more game…And we'll try taking Macey again in the Spring.

We are big Braves fans. Well, Jimmy more so than me, but I end up watching all of the games too since that’s all we watch in the summer. On Monday, we ran into a newer Braves player, Brooks Conrad, at lunch. He had his 18 month old daughter with him and was surprised that Jimmy recognized him. After he got his food, Brooks came to our table and talked to us about his family, Macey and, of course, the grand slam he had earlier this season. He is incredibly nice and it absolutely made our day that he stopped to talk with us.

LOVE this hot dog eatin' fool!

Yep, we were WAY up there in the cheap seats!

Tomahawk choppin!

Pretty cool zoom on our camera... McCann on first base

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

Zoo Atlanta was beautiful! It was a hot day but the zoo offered a decent amount of shade. I think Spring will be a better time for Macey to actually enjoy the zoo for the animals, but we had a great time!

They were exhausted after their first day at the zoo!

The tiger was a little too close for pictures... and comfort.

The baby Giraffe was just born in July

The Zebras, Giraffes and Elephant were my favorites.

Six Month Old Princess

These are a few of the six month pictures that Jenny took for us. Amazing. I have such a talented sister and I'm so thankful that she took so many great pictures of Macey for us.

Our little angel has turned half a year. I keep thinking that the stage that she is in right now is the best stage... but every day continues to get better.

Macey has been eating solids since she as 4 1/2 months and has decided that she likes everything but peas and green beans. For breakfast she eats fruit and has milk. Lunch she eats a vegetable (butternut squash and sweet potatos are her favorites) and has milk. Mid-afternoon she has milk for a snack and the rest of her lunch for an early dinner. Right before bed (around 6:45p), she has cereal and a fruit, then milk.

At her 6 month appointment, Macey weighed 18.1 lbs and measured 27 1/4 inches. I'm not 100% that the height is right as some of the babies in our group appear to be the same size but measure 28 1/2 inches...

Macey loves to touch the face of the person holding her and stare into their eyes. She laughs and smiles all the time and is generally a very happy baby. She does well playing by herself with her toys or in her jumparoo. She also loves singing and dancing with mommy and daddy as we get dinner ready. Bailey and Sam take turns sleeping by Macey's crib at night and suffer through her "petting" them each day.

Typically, Macey sleeps from 7:15p - 5a, eats and then is back asleep by 6a until 8:30a. We still don't have any teeth but all of the signs are there. Although she hasn't started crawling yet, she has become resourceful in spinning and flipping to get what she wants. If she can't spin or flip to get it, she usually decides it isn't worth getting after all.

Macey and the Fishies

Macey and I went to the GA Aquarium for our first time last week with three of our baby brigade friends. It's always exciting to see so many beautiful and unique fish... makes me want to renew my scuba certification and see these beautiful fish in their natural habitat!

Macey enjoyed watching the fish in the first few tanks...
